Onedrive and Linux don't really go well together. Google Drive is natively supported on most distros though. I have had some luck in the past with an open source sync client on GitHub called onedriver, but you're probably better off switching to a different cloud storage provider in the end.

Yet another windows update that decides to reset my One Drive backup folder preferneces and starts to try and back up my entire Documents folder which contains huge amounts of data instead of the 1gb of data i specifically tell it to sync.

You have to copy data to a local onedrive folder first to upload it to cloud, even if using Files On Demand. With 1809, you can now automatically free up the online folders once uploaded after a period from Storage Sense (minimum one day).

This is one of the only honest comments on this thread. One Drive does have issues that other cloud storage solutions don't have. First off, to say that any software is flawless and the only issues are users using it wrong, is just factually inaccurate for ANY software. That reminds me of Apple's "You're using it wrong" statement.
